Mingo Palacios:

Hey, everybody. Thanks for tuning in today. My name is Mingo, and I am the host for the PD podcast.

This is a special episode because we’re actually in the Purpose Driven RV, en route from southern California to Houston and Beaumont, Texas for an event that’s happening this Monday, September 18th, called Hope Stands.

Pastor Rick Warren from Saddleback Church and Pastor Kerry Shook from Woodlands Church are convening several leaders from within the affected areas and several pastors, talking about the long-term plans, the long-term recovery efforts of what it’s going to take to not just rebuild the local community, but rebuild the local church. We believe that the local church is the hope of the world, and when you rebuild the local church, you in turn rebuild the community that it’s in.

If you know somebody who’s in the affected area or somebody who’s going to be in Houston or Beaumont that would benefit from being at one of these two events, I can’t encourage you enough to send them this link or send them this podcast or tag them in any of our social postings on Facebook or on Instagram concerning the event.

All the information is on our website, hopestands.org, where you can RSVP for either event. You can also click to sign up to join several thousand other people in praying for the communities affected in Houston and Beaumont, and it’s a great place where you can give to the long-term recovery projects that we know will need to have funding over the next several months and the next several years.

Pastor Rick says it often: that the church is the hope of the world. We believe there’s no better way of lending our efforts and lending our time and our attention to local leaders that represent the church that is the hope for its community and the people that live in it.

I’m asking you for your help in sharing this message to get it out to your feeds and to get it connected to people who you know who might be in the area, so they can join us for this special event. It’s free. You just need to RSVP on our website, hopestands.org.

You can also join us for the up-to-the-minute story as we make our way there in the Purpose Driven RV through our social channels @pdchurch or on Facebook at Purpose Driven Church.

As I am looking at the road ahead, I am eager to meet several new pastors and connect with new ministries that we’ve yet to meet, knowing that God is going to do an incredible work. He’s already doing an incredible work on the ground there. We’re so thankful and humbled to be a part of that story. We can’t wait to connect. We’ll talk to you guys soon.
